The Birth of the Korean Cool

Every actor I know, every broody, Mr. Darcy of the grunge scene found Russian culture and poetry immensely appealing. We were trying to figure out if they love their children too. So how did this happen? How did Korea go from like one stand up comic rounding up in 1980 to basically controlling every cultural genre and medium today? It wasn't just one like, like super important pivot person, right? You can't point to it. I mean, really it's not Gangnam Style. But that's not where the story started.
