Water Vapor in the Stratosphere

It's going to stay in the stratosphere for maybe several years, gradually diffusing through the stratosphere. It's sort of like a giant atmospheric experiment that's been started by this eruption really. Water vapor is a greenhouse gas, so it does absorb radiation emitted by the earth and has a warming effect. The data so far suggests that there may be a slight warming impact but yeah, we're still waiting to see what's going to happen over the next few years really.
