In the opening pages of the book, you describe how seneca is sitting there in his apartment. There's a gymnasium under him where weight lifters are dropping weights. I think he says, the no of ancient rome is enough to make me hate my powers of hearing. The world has never been less stale. Inthe world, theyre moving faster and faster and faster. But we may be hitting it like a crescendo of un stillness ret but it's remarkable to me.
