The First Amendment and the Press Act

The New York Times general counsel, Jim Goodell, was instrumental in having the First Amendment protected. Despite this, several writers have been forced to choose prison over revealing sources to a grand jury. Representative Jamie Raskin told me he intends to reintroduce the press act this summer. This is a basic protection for journalism. We should have codified it 50 years ago and we need to pass it now.
