The History of Homeschooling in the Late 20th Century

Sally Kohn: I'm going to talk a little bit about why homeschooling happened in general and what the countercultural right and left movements looked like in the late 20th century. She says people on both sides of the political spectrum are generally a more interested in building local communities, establishing self-determination over seeking and national identity. The most popular television program at the time which was a mini series called Roots is basically it just kind of rejects this melting pot idea of society and celebrates being like particular.
