What Are the Main Side Effects of Statins?

New research suggests there could be more going on here than meets the eye. People who already had a problem takin statins, they had side effects and had to come off them in the past, were given a briefcase with 12 identical bottles. Four of the bottles contained statins; four other bottles contained sugar. For a year, people took one bottle for the month and then recorded what their side effects were like. But when the researchers went through the data, they showed that 90 % of the symptoms were there even when people were taking the sugar pills. It's called the ne bo effect. So i caught up with researcher, doctor james howard, from imperial college london
