Is There a Supply of Dollars in the Global Market?
The shortage of dollars is what puts the European banking system under pressure. Sri Lanka started this off and I tipped you guys all off about it back in March, he says. Foreign central banks end up having to sell their treasuries or support their own currency. That becomes an issue because it's driving high interest rates. Right now, the interest rate market has no buyers. There's no buyers of bonds. And the pension system has just taken the biggest loss ever in the 60-40 portfolio.
