The Supreme Court justices actually have to take two oaths. The first is in accordance with Article 6, all federal officials must take an oath in support of the Constitution. From 1789 until 1861, this oath was, I do solemnly swear or affirm that I will support the Constitution of the United States. Then things got a wumpus during the 1860s for obvious reasons.
