The TV Kitchen: A Theatre of Fear and Terror
The TV kitchen has changed a lot over the years from these almost abstract spaces where Fanny Craddock used to cook. Now we want to occupy that slightly rare Instagram-y world of Nigella and Nigel. Don't we, with this sort of burnished domestic environment? Maybe we want to make that in our own home. I think there is always the promise of the perfect life because so many things about gender identity and family and kind of affluence are all bound up with that particular space.
