The Representative Nature of Christ's Death

Christ's death was representative our death, so that in Christ we die to sin. We are crucified with Christ. It is for all men, as Paul says. Even though Paul held that Christ was the representative of all mankind before God and died on behalf of all mankind, Paul was no universalist. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
