The Russians Learned All the Wrong Lessons From Their Engagement in Syria
In Syria, the Russians didn't encounter any meaningful opposition. In Ukraine, they met a properly organized and equipped military that completely defeated them. So one of the more important conclusions I reach in the book is that the Russians learnt all the wrong lessons from their involvement in Syria. We haven't seen anything like this since the Second World War in Europe. And it's quite appalling.
