I think about this, we are very simple creatures and we might think that it's kind of a no harm, no foul thing to romanticize the one who got away. But perhaps the key to shifting those glasses to look forward instead of back is accepting the idea of impermanence. You played a role in that chapter of their life. Don't deny it.
