The Story of the Prodigal Son

Many christians go through much of their life with the prodigals suspicion. We're suspicious if god truly would love us and take care of us. How do we find ourselves where we can trust in god and simply have this trust? One of the things i was thinking about is m i think we just have to have a childlike faith, which believes in what their father is telling them.
