Is Alexander the Great, the One That Pre Dates the Gospel?

The word pre dates alexander, but he's the one to really make a ton of use out of it. He's the one that kind of charters the way. But i don't think they believe he coined the term at all. That term pre dates that. Obviously they connect it to zeus and hermes. But the dating of thats going to be argued about. It even gets into greek mythology. And how far back into the mythology it goes will be the source of great debate.
