Qualified Immunity

5-4

CHAPTER

The Supreme Court's Role in Police Cases

The Supreme Court is three times as likely to take an appeal from a cop who's upset that they didn't get qualified immunity, then it is to take literally any other type of appeal. So all of this operates in a way to keep what the cops do sort of shielded from the public and keep the cops themselves shielded from liability.
