In its full we can call it a novel. Also, the most famous adaptation of that is probably pinocchio. Apulius himself apparently was charged with having used sorcery in order to bewitch the woman who marries him. Part of this is about magic and sorcery, but a lot of it isn't. A lot of it is a legal charge, and it's about eritance and the other members of her family. So popera, it's develoment. It's a very interesting trial.
