Phenomenology - Making the Cut in the Book
Phenomenology is about drawing a distinction between what someone sees or experiences, and what's actually there. The most basic method of Phenomenology is simply to focus on what appears to a particular subject but not to worry at least upfront about what the ultimate object or source of the appearance or phenomenon is.
