The semiconductor shortage lasted roughly as long as the pandemic, then evaporated. Every client was suddenly stuck with massive amounts of inventory. The chip makers have been trying to get back into Wall Street's good gracious, but they just can't. There's no let up in the lack of demand for the end products.
