The black panther party has attracted strong national support from radicals and intellectuals. The panthers openly advocate the use of guns against the police, claiming that they don't attack, but will only shoot in self defense. So what was going on in 19 67 that made these very conservative republicans decide that maybe they thought gun control is a good idea? And that's exactly what i see.
