The Future of Byzantine Fault Tolerance
There was work already in theoretical Byzantine fault tolerance, but those were not algorithms that you would really want to use if you were building a system. And so here it is about 2000 and Miguel and I have finished this work. We thought maybe this might be used for a key distribution center - where the public, private keys that people use on the internet come from. So even though we couldn't see where this would go, we might don't, hopefully, that it would go somewhere 10 years down the road.
