What Do You Think Kalamas Bring Well-Being or Harm?
Some ascetics and Brahmins come to Kaisaputta. They explain and clarify their own theories, but lambast, criticize and repudiate those of others taking them apart. So Lord, they only leave us doubtful and uncertain. The Buddha replies: No wonder you're uncertain Kalamas. Being uncertain, doubt has arisen for you. But Kalamas, when you yourselves know that something is unwholesome, culpable and criticized by the wise, then Kalamas, you should give it up.
