The Importance of Congress
Philip Klein: I've come to specialize studying in Congress because it seems that Congress is sort of the wobbly leg of the stool and needs work. He says he thinks an awful lot of well-educated Americans who are tuned into politics, maybe they can quote you something from their eighth grade civics class,. but on the whole they have the sense that Congress is just a futile place. The book is premised on the idea that we need to go back to basics and really think about why the Congress is there in the first place.
