So now this IIT, this integrated information theory, which has been put forward by Julia Tynoni and a bunch of his collaborators over the last decade or two, aims to answer that question. And they give a criterion that's just based on how a system is connected. The definition of fee is actually changed over time but involves something about what we in computer science would call graph expansion.
