If russia had no nuclear weapons, i think it was very high chance that either nato, or at least some members of nato, like poland, would have intervened. Can germany really trust tramp, lepine and the brexiters to risk nuclear annihilation for the sake of germany? Maybe not. If so, the logical conclusion could be, germany needs its own nuks. The more fingers you have on these red buttons, chances grow that somewhere, some some sometime, somebody would press button with terrible consequences for the whole of human kind.
