The Challenges of Building in a Distributed System

Once you go to the world of microservices, you are building a distributed system. So for instance, you no longer can do a real join across your data sets. There's some real trade offs to that. We have to kind of understand and move on. And I think the worst point is when we try and cling to the patterns that made sense for the old world while we're still operating in the new world.
