Academics Aren't Meant to Pursue Change
Shai: Academics are being used as a kind of lighting rod. They start off with good intention, but every paradigm wants to perpetuate itself. I don't think the crisis of the history profession is going to be sold so long as you have a politics governed by nationalism. Shai: Most modern historiography was done in the service of the nation state,. And until we reach a point where the social contact is, it doesn't matter whether Baba demolished a mosque or not, at least not to the project that we want to salvage now.
