We have to avoid the risk of what we call fragmentation within the European Union and especially the Euro area, says Haley Ordell. The EU is struggling with high energy prices that are set to climb even further as winter sets in. In addition, some countries face additional economic challenges in the form of high debt levels and increasing borrowing costs. We recently sat down with EU Commissioner for the Economy and former Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni to better understand these issues and how the EU can respond to them.
