In the formal economy, social reproduction is a really huge source of jobs. Care work has taken up a growing proportion of low wage job growth for decades now. Nearly all the fastest growing jobs in America revolve around caring and almost half of new jobs are coming from those areas. And that's before we get to the whole sphere of unpaid social reproduction as well.
