The Supreme Court's Oversight of the DC Police Department's Duty to Protect Citizens
The Supreme Court has upheld that claim that they do not have a legal duty repeatedly. And people wonder why we distrust the police in large number. I just wish I could tell you all of the different cases in which this doctrine has been sort of affirmed over and over again. There was one here in DC called Warren, the Warren case, which is ironic because this case came down around the same time that DC passed the law disarming all residents of the District of Columbia in the late 1970s.
