The Importance of Immediate Associations

Bias is not always bad. We've societally, we've sort of pejorative judgment about if you're biased, that means something's wrong with you. The same mental systems that lead me to be wanting to call my doctor rather than my mechanic when my back hurts are the same things that lead I to have biases of kinds that I would disagree with. It's still a bias in the very functional sense of it leads you to do one thing over another thing. But it's not an unwanted bias. It's not even a bias. It’s a bias.
