The why question is one that everyone should and can ask. Do you ever go down the route as an atheist of trying to see why there's a reason behind this? No I don't think you can and I think that's interesting how difficult it is. The Christian tradition in particular is that if there's a God who actually has lived a human life and knows what suffering is then for anyone who's suffering I can say they don't need to wonder whether there's someone who exists who understands what they're going through or if there'sSomeone who cares.
