Introduction

KFC first entered India in 1995, shortly after the massive wave of liberalisation. The American brand has ruled the fried chicken roost since then. Despite KFC's success, none of the other big fast food chains stepped on KFC's turf for many years. That's when KFC rivals decided to disrupt the status quo and wanted a bite too. Now almost every KFC store in India is run by two listed franchise companies.
