Is There a Consensus About That?

In the last roughly 0.1% of the history of humanity is the only time we've started to see some growth of societies that routinely protect persons property and promises. And it's been something of a big academic question why that got started, how humanity started to respect those things or maybe that's reversing causation here. How human progress really got kicked off in the last 200 or so years and you weigh in on that with an answer that draws on, I think, a lot of different scholars.
