The Directory's Repression of Conservatism

In 17 97, the French Directory abolished freedom of the press. The newly reconstituted directory then set out to implement what is now known as the directorial terror. Conservatives were identified and purged and replaced by solid republicans. But you know what that means? That's right now, the left is going to start creeping back to life in France.
