The Importance of Complexity in the Universe

Einstein saw nature as something causal so that in some way it was predetermined from the beginning of time how it was going to go on. He had this religious faith, I would say, in the power of nature. What really happens in the universe is that nature finds all these extraordinarily complex structures which have their own rules. Things happen in living creatures which you can't just describe with a set of equations.
