Is It Time to Start Base Half Marathon Training?

I'm 20 weeks out from my half marathon and I'm still plodding away doing quite short distances. It's just the confidence is that I feel comfortable with like 5k distance at the moment, but if somebody was like, you need to run seven miles next week, I'd put it off and be scared because I don't have the confidence to it. So I definitely need to get some strength training back up so that when I start running long distances, again, it's not horrid. If my core is crap and my legs get sore and stuff, I'll just want to give up. So I need to build that base a little bit first. Oh, spoken like
