The Baconian Solution Is the Best Possible Now, Right?
Socrates made some crucial changes to his speech. He leaves out the politicians and he suppresses the critique of artisans. And I think the reason for that is he wants the scientists to be with the courts of the kings on the one hand, and he wants these faux artists who shouldn't be there to go be artisans,. So he's appropriating Socrates in a way that's more akin to bacon in certain respects.
