If we can replicate this reaction on ea, it would generate virtually an unlimited supply of energy with no radioactive waste and no greenhouse gas emissions. The joke is that fusion is 30 years away but there has been a lot of really interesting progress on that front over the past few years. It would be able to provide large amounts of electricity much more cleanly than nuclear vision.
