Hydra, a Regenerative Animal

Dr. Selena Juliana studies the aquatic animal Hydra, which undergoes continual self-renewal and has incredible regenerative capabilities. Her lab investigates the differentiation trajectories in Hydra, how injury triggers developmental pathways during regeneration, and the mechanisms that allow Hydra stem cells to constantly replace the soma.
