The Importance of Loneliness in a Novel
Tin Man by Sarah Windman is a love story between two men, Ellis and Michael. It's not necessarily the sort of book I'm usually drawn to for those reasons because I like more dark-edged books. But I just think this one worked very well for me. The main gay character who became a role model with so many gay men of that generation and my generation as well. His journey throughout this novel and through the subsequent ones is really our journey as gay men of That Generation. He represents so many things that we all lived through when the AIDS crisis appears in the books or dealing with his family. There are times and characters behaving ways you think, oh, please don't
