Irrevocable Trusts - What's the Right Kind of Trust?
In the United States, we not only have federal capital gains tax imposed on gains when you recognize them through a liquidation event. A lot of the various states have state level capital gains tax that gets attached as well. And then at the federal level, there's not a ton we can do unless we start incorporating charitable strategies. So some of the strategies that we're incorporating are irrevocable trusts where we change the identity of the tax payer from the individual set law to the trust itself.
