The defendants typically have about three weeks to file an answer to the complaint. Chess.com could move for a protective order so that only the court and maybe certain attorneys or expert witnesses could gain access to its algorithm. The judge has a lot of discretion to schedule and control the discovery process. If all of that happens, if the motion to dismiss is denied, if the case doesn't settle then maybe there's a trial at the end of the line.
