The Lord to Moses, Cut Out Two Stone Tablets Like the Former Ones, and I Will Write on the Tablets the Words That Were Written on the Former One
exodus 34 is one of the most profound experiences anywhere in the bible that some one has personally with god himself. In a sense, it's almost like he's saying to moses, this is what i want you to know about me. This is after they have left egypt, the israelites, they've come to mount sinai. They have agreed to enter into a covenant with god. God has given them the ten commandments. And so now we come to exodus 34, and moses is going to have another encounter where he meets with god face to face, like a friend. The set up to that is exodus 34, verses one through four.
