Are We Really So Sure We Want to Find Other Intelligent Life?

The search has become so multi faceted that it began looking at particular radio frequencies. We are building, both on the ground and in space, larger and larger optical telescopes and infered telescopes. These instruments will be the first time that we actually get to try and image individual exo planets except for less than a handful of systems that are really close by.
