What Are Vowel Changes?

In Middle English, the word fulphin was once pronounced as a G sound. But by the time of Middle English, that sound had evolved into a W sound. Now all of these sound changes which I'm discussing will become very important when we get to the scribes who had to figure out how to write them down. And this final set of sound changes may be the most complicated of all because it involves the vowels.
