You've written that one of the unfortunate side effects of technology is the speed at which things happen. I don't think we would be able to know what was happening as quickly without the ability to experience it online or on our devices, you say. If we can see what's happening on Twitter, we are aware. We are woke. And so I do think that technology is the instigator to this, but I also think that humans as a species tend to be extremely desirous of self-gratification.
