CHAPTER

What Is Lucy?

Donald johanson spotted a fossilized bone in the gully and investigated further. Using radiometric dating, lucy was discovered to be around three point one, eight million years old. The team managed to find about forty % of the original skeleton. It was obviously bipedl due to the shape of the bones and the way that the bones fitted together. However, her face was very ape like, with a projecting lower jaw and a flat nose. She also had a small brain case that is about third of the size of modern humans. And she was only three foot six inches tall.
