A common assumption is to go straightto metabolic adaptation, or maybe low total daily energy expenditure. But you really have to dig deeper and find out what's causing the problem. A number of people reach out to me on the interne and say, hey, i was thinking about getting my resting metabolic rate tested. I basically always say, no. It's knowing your resting metabolic rate in the absence of knowing your total daily energy expenditures for weight loss purposes is not particularly useful.
