The MacDala Collection

The MacDala collection contains around 80 objects taken from a mountaintop fortress in Northern Ethiopia. These are highly sacred objects within the Ethiopian Orthodox tradition, incredibly sacred to these people. There are very viable real circumstances where the British Museum could morally have these objects if they were in communication with these communities who are still there.
