The Selective Service Act of 1917 runs up against some of the freedoms, some of the rights that are defined in our founding documents. So there was not a significant like anti war movement as you would see, maybe later with Vietnam and things like this. There was a significant movement before 1917, but it becomes very hard to keep up an organized anti war movement after that.
